The majority of the trails are of intermediate level. These trails are not recommended for people with reduced mobility since they include several steps, up and downhill slopes. Usage of the baby carrier is recommended and strollers are not advised (even sports models). Baby carrier rental is available (not available in 2020).

Pets are accepted, although they must be kept on a leash at all times in the Park (including on the campground). They are however prohibited in the shelters, ready-to-camp tents and on Foresta Lumina’s site.
The trail closes at the end of the day upon varying schedules depending on the date and visitors must leave in order to prepare Foresta Lumina. We recommend that you check the daily schedules.

The entire experience takes place outside within the Canyon’s trails which are partially leveled but not asphalted. These paths are not recommended for people with reduced mobility since they consider several step levels, downhill and climbing as well as the crossing of the suspended footbridge. Using a baby carrier is recommended although strollers are not recommended including the off-road/sports models. Baby carrier rental is available (not available in 2020).

Mountain bike

The majority of trails are intermediate to expert levels. Parc de la Gorge is pleased to offer its clientele a family mountain bike trail. This beginner level trail is named “Équestre”.

Pets are accepted, although they must be kept on a leash at all times in the Park (including on the campground). They are however prohibited in the shelters, ready-to-camp tents and on Foresta Lumina’s site.

Margaret’ Farmhouse

The farmhouse is temporarily closed for the 2020 season. Thank you for your understanding!

Foresta Lumina

We strongly recommend purchasing tickets online in advance in order to preserve the desired time visit.

The experience still takes place even in the rain; be sure to bring a rain jacket. Of course, if there is a major storm, we reserve the right to close Foresta Lumina, in order to ensure the safety of our staff and visitors. Management takes the decision to open/close at 3 pm.

Cancellation : If we need to cancel certain time schedules, a purple banner will appear at the top of forestalumina.com starting at 3 pm and the information will also be on our Facebook page under : Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook & Foresta Lumina. It is therefore your responsibility to verify, in case of bad weather conditions, if events are cancelled. Guests will then receive an email during the day to give them the procedure to postpone their visit to a later date for the current season. If you do not see a purple banner around 3 pm, Foresta Lumina is open.

You can purchase your tickets either online, by calling 1 888 524-6743 or directly on the Foresta Lumina site at 135, Street Michaud, Coaticook, QC J1A 1A9, as soon as the summer season begins.

If you cannot print your ticket either keep your confirmation on your portable phone or mention your name or order number upon arrival. The time you booked is a time space so for example, if you booked a ticket for 9 pm your departure is assured between 9 pm and 9:30 pm.

Of course! Visitors may combine Foresta Lumina with numerous activities offered at Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook and Parc Découverte Nature. Get a discount when combining 2 or more activities.

Not necessarily, we can validate tickets individually. However, make sure that each person has a copy of the confirmation on hand.
The site closes at the end of the day and visitors must leave the trails in order to prepare Foresta Lumina. We recommend that you verify the site’s exact opening schedule. Foresta Lumina is a unique activity offered at Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook. It is possible to book campground accommodations directly on-site, located within less than 5 minutes from Foresta Lumina. Certified 4-stars, there are 182 sites with or without services that suit everyone offering a picnic table and campfire location. Tents, RV’s, ready-to-camp tents and shelters are accessible for a memorable experience! It is also possible to book overnight stays in a hotel via our nearby partners.

You will be able to enter the site even if you are late less than 30 minutes. Although, please note that we cannot let you in before your reserved time space if you arrive earlier.

Foresta Lumina’s experience may be compared to a concert or a movie admission. If you are not able to be present, we do not make any refunds or modifications on your initial purchase.

Dogs and pets are not allowed on site.

The pathway is 2.6 km and takes between one to two hours depending on each visitor.
With pleasure! However, we do not suggest using the flash option for pictures.

Restrooms are available near the parking and halfway distance of the Foresta Lumina trip.

The firefly, our on-site snack bar, will allow you to discover several local product flavors and is located in the entrance area.

It is not possible to make the journey of Foresta Lumina without crossing the bridge. The experience is optimal in this way. It is important to know that we have employees at the beginning and at the end of the bridge who ensure the smooth passage. If you are less comfortable with heights, you can tell the employee at the beginning of the bridge that will reduce (to the extent possible) the number of people crossing the bridge at the same time.

The camping for the 2020 season will open on June 8. We are curreltly receiving a large amount of inquiries and therefore recommend booking online.

The farmhouse and the community hall remain closed.

We invite you to consult the website of the Society for the Protection of Forests Against Fire in order to find out whether open fires (campfires) are authorized or not.

Here are some guidelines that must be respected from the Public Health:
• Limit your travel when you are on the site.
• Campers must limit their trip to a simple round trip between their home and the campsite. We recommend doing your grocery shopping before leaving your area.

We also invite you to read the recommendations for campers at Camping Québec. The pamphlet for campers is very complete and will allow you to prepare your stay accurately with us!

Note that camping reservations for the 2021 summer season are available since March 11, 2020, it is possible to book online.

Before your arrival, be well informed and well equipped!

• Given government instructions, it is possible that certain facilities or activities are inaccessible for part or all of the current season. To avoid disappointment, please refer to the summer schedules section of our website.

• Prepare an adequate supply of hand soap and gel sanitizer.

• Make sure to bring cleaning and sanitizing supplies such as disinfectant wipes to use on frequently touched surfaces.

• Prepare yourself with facial protection such as masks or visors.

• Make sure you have a tablecloth on hand for your picnic table.

• Consider the option of bringing your own sports equipment if necessary.

• If you have a reservation for a shelter or a ready-to-camp, you must bring your bed linen (sheets, pillows, towels) as well as your dishes (plates, utensils, glasses, pots, pans, etc.) in order to comply with health standards related to the Covid-19.

The day of your arrival and during your stay with us

• If you have symptoms of Covid-19 or have been in contact with someone affected, please do not show up and respect the 14 days of confinement recommended by the government. If you develop symptoms during your stay, isolate yourself in your equipment. Your campsite or shelter or ready-to-camp will be accessible as of 4 p.m. and departure is scheduled for 11 a.m.

• When you arrive at the site, you must send only one representative per group of campers to the reception. Individuals accompanying you must remain in the vehicle.

• Respect social distancing (2 meters) at all times.

• Respect public health recommendations in relations with group gatherings. Indoor gatherings are prohibited. Outdoor gatherings must be limited to a maximum of 10 people from 3 different households.

• Sanitary blocks are reserved for “traveler” type customers who have no other option than to use our on-site sanitary equipment. These campers must comply with the mandatory hand washing instructions and follow recommended facility capacity displayed.

• If you purchased your bag of wood and/or ice bags when you made your reservation, you can collect them in the small shed located next to the campground’s reception. It is also possible to make purchases at the same place.

• On site, we strongly recommend card payments such as debit or credit cards (MasterCard, Visa). Cash is still accepted as of today, but will require additional processing time on site.

• Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook camping offers a wide range of activities. On site, you can take advantage of Foresta Lumina (this activity implies additional costs and prior online purchasing is recommended), hiking and mountain biking (included with accommodations). Note that the Margaret farmhouse, the community hall, the swimming pool, the water games and playground modules are closed to this day. You can refer to the schedule of all these activities and more on our website.

• Hiking and biking trails are now available via the Ondago free app.

Check-ins are at the campground’s reception desk (400, St-Marc Street, Coaticook, QC J1A 2M3). When you arrive at the site, you must send only one representative per group of campers to the reception. Individuals accompanying you must remain in the vehicle.

It is possible to modify your reservation by e-mail : accueil@gorgedecoaticook.qc.ca (please include your e-mail and telephone number in case we need to get in contact with you) respecting the following conditions:

  • Modifications within 7 days of your arrival date, a $5.50 plus tax fee will be added for all necessary changes.
  • Within 6 days or less of your arrival date no modifications will be accepted.

Cancellation of your reservation is possible by e-mail : accueil@gorgedecoaticook.qc.ca (please include your e-mail and telephone number in case we need to get in contact with you) respecting the following conditions:

  • Cancellation within 7 days of your arrival, a $10.00 fee plus tax will be added per campsite cancelled.
  • Within 6 days or less before arrival, full payment of the reservation will be withheld.
  • For a cancellation on the day of arrival, if we do not receive further communication from you, your campsite will be held until 11 am the next day. Beyond this deadline and if we do not receive further communications from you, the reservation is canceled (full stay) and the full payment is retained.

Service charges are non-refundable. A minimum of 3 nights are required for reservations when considering the following statutory holidays: National Patriots Day (Victoria Day), St. Jean Baptiste Day, Canada Day, Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day.

NEW! CHANGES HAVE OCCURRED IN REGARDS TO THE BEGINNING OF OUR CAMPGROUND RESERERVATION DATES FOR 2021.

As of March 11th 2020, it will be possible to book campsites online or by telephone for the upcoming 2021 camping season.

Your campsite or shelter or ready-to-camp will be accessible as of 4 p.m. and departure is scheduled for 11 a.m. If you have a reservation for a shelter or a ready-to-camp, You must bring your bed linen (sheets, pillows, towels) as well as your dishes (plates, utensils, glasses, pots, pans, etc.) in order to comply with health standards related to the Covid-19. Each campsite may accommodate 2 adults and 4 children (under 18 years of age). Additional charges apply for additional people (per night). Children under 5 years of age are free of charge. A maximum of 8 people, (6 adults) must be respected at all times. If additional equipment is added to your campsite, please make sure it fits on your site. Curfew and tranquility must be respected from: 24 h (midnight) to 7 am. Each shelter or ready-to-camp accomodate 4 people. If you have a reservation for a shelter or a ready-to-camp, you must bring your bed linen (sheets, pillows, towels) as well as your dishes (plates, utensils, glasses, pots, pans, etc.) in order to comply with health standards related to the Covid-19.

It is not possible to arrive earlier than pre-established check-in time. Following these guidelines allows our maintenance team to ensure acceptable cleaning of all campsites. However, you may certainly have access to hiking trails before check-in time. In order to do so, pass by the campground’s reception desk.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to leave later since we have a heavy turnover rate of campers arriving daily.

Hiking trails are free of access with accommodation bookings. Foresta Lumina is never included within accommodations reservations although you may reserve your tickets on forestalumina.com.
