Thanks to our adaptability and the sustained commitment of our team, we were able to offer a quality experience to our visitors. We are proud of the work accomplished,\u201d said Caroline Sage, Executive Director of <em>Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook <\/em>and <em>Parc D\u00e9couverte Nature.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>2024 Review<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#x2705; Improved Accessibility<\/p>\n<p>In collaboration with K\u00e9roul, several improvements were made to improve accessibility: trail repairs, construction of an adapted cabin, installation of an inclusive game module, creation of accessible camping areas, adjustments to parking lots and entrances, installation of new signage, and staff training.<\/p>\n<p>&#x2705; Adapting to New Climate Realities<\/p>\n<p>Extreme weather conditions led to activity cancellations and postponements, as well as repeated trail damage due to heavy rainfall and flooding, forcing the evacuation of the campground. Natural hazards also disrupted operations at <em>Acoatica Nature Discovery Park<\/em> and <em>Foresta Lumina,<\/em> leading to increased maintenance costs.<\/p>\n<p>&#x2705; Commitment to sustainable development<\/p>\n<p>Obtaining GreenStep Gold certification for sustainable tourism, establishing an environmental committee, and pursuing responsible sourcing policies.<\/p>\n<p>&#x2705; Partnerships and community engagement<\/p>\n<p>Participation in the <em>Acc\u00e8s Nature<\/em> program, organizing days and evenings reserved for residents, and involving the local community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#x2705; Visitor numbers and attendance<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook<\/em>: a total of 270 248 visitors in 2024, confirming its status as a must-see destination. Trail attendance increased, while Foresta Lumina has seen a decline due to cancellations and the new schedule, which facilitates human resource management without impacting visitor and camper experiences.<\/li>\n<li><em>Parc D\u00e9couverte Nature<\/em>: With 7560 visitors, it stands out for its overall decline in attendance and an increase in group visits. Offering a unique experience popular with schools, its main challenge remains enhancing its reputation and expanding its recognition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Outlook on 2025: Building a Promising Future Together<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The upcoming year represents a continuation of the ongoing efforts. The strategic planning initiated in 2024 will continue with specific objectives:<\/p>\n<p>&#x1f539; Continue improving infrastructure and accessibility<\/p>\n<p>&#x1f539; Increase sustainable development initiatives<\/p>\n<p>&#x1f539; Diversify the range of activities to expand the clientele<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe past year was challenging, but it also demonstrated the strength of our collective efforts.
