« Mobilisation petits bedons »: $15,650 to feed our youth and scatter smiles
Coaticook, September 4th 2025 – Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook and Parc Découverte Nature are very proud to announce that the 2025 edition of the « Little bellies mobilization » campaign was a remarkable success. Thanks to the generous support of our visitors and the community, a total amount of $15,650 was raised to support food aid programs in Coaticook’s schools.
“More than just a fundraiser, the initiative has become a gathering, where every contribution weaves a safety net around the children of our community. Each contribution, big or small, helps fill a tummy and bring a smile to a child’s face. A very special thank you goes to an anonymous donor who, through an exceptional gesture, contributed $10,000. We are deeply touched by this flow of solidarity, which gives the campaign its true meaning,” said Caroline Sage, General Manager of Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook and Parc Découverte Nature.
Beyond the amount raised, the real impact lies in the speed and flexibility these donations provide to schools. While official food aid programs often require delays, forms, or proof, the funds collected through “Little bellies mobilization” allow for immediate action in the face of life’s unforeseen challenges.
“For some families we can help, it changes their lives. Since I don’t have to go through other intermediaries, I can respond immediately when the need arises. I had a few mothers in tears when I was able to help them last year. This way, children don’t have to go without, despite a difficult period in their family,” shared David Morin, principal of “École Monseigneur-Durand”.
The Parks wish to thank everyone who participated in this movement of solidarity, whether families, passing visitors, or local citizens. Each person contributed to building a stronger community.
Donations do not erase hardships, but they allow children to live like others and give adults a chance to breathe. The “Little bellies mobilization” campaign will return in 2026, with the same conviction: making a difference for our children, one donation at a time.
