Celebrate Sparkling Saturdays “February Play Outside” and “March, on break!” » at Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook and Parc Découverte Nature!
Coaticook, January 26th, 2023 – The parks are delighted to announce a series of captivating activities in February and March, inviting outdoor enthusiasts to play outside, have fun and relax on enchanting sites! February, play outside! and March, on break! are part of the popular Winter Fun program and are presented in partnership with the City of Coaticook. Saturdays from February 3rd to March 9th, 2024 will be animated through various dynamic themes, inviting people to come and enjoy the magical benefits of the Parks!
“These moments are much more than just events. Our natural spaces offer a shelter, a place where families, friends and neighbors can come together and share moments of joy, adventure and relaxation,” indicates Caroline Sage, general director of Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook and Parc Découverte Nature.
February, play outside!
A series of thrilling experiences will be offered in addition to regular opening hours. Whether you are a winter sports enthusiast or simply looking for an outdoor adventure, the Parks offer entertainment for everyone.
STAR SATURDAY-February 3rd
Get ready for a joyful 5 to 8 happy hour at Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook! In partnership with Progrès de Coaticook and Infrasound, vibrate to the rhythm of the music with our DJ and enjoy the specially illumined ice rink. Add action to your evening under the stars with hikes, fatbiking, snowshoeing, and Liéri (escape game) using a headlamp. No need to rack your brain for dinner, the Park’s snack bar will be open great products and beers from local microbreweries will be featured! Access to the activity requires site entrance ticket purchase.
ICE FISHING TOURNAMENT-February 10th
Whether you are an ice fishing enthusiast or want to discover this sport, a big-paying fishing tournament awaits you. Fish one of the paying trouts and win $1000, $500 or $250! Your participation in the one-hour paid fishing trip is included in the cost of the ice fishing ticket. You can increase your chances and extend your participation for a few additional dollars, payable on site only. It will be possible to warm up by discovering a winter version of Acoatica’s indoor interactive games. Reserve your place now and earn a chance to replenish your wallet! Parc Découverte Nature will also be open for ice fishing and Acoatica on February 3rd, 17th and 24th as well as March 2nd, 5th to 9th , 2024. The Park is open from 10am to 4pm (last entry is at 2:30pm).
SUPRISE SATURDAY-February 17th
Are you spontaneous and like taking on challenges? Add this date to your calendar for an unforgettable day at Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook in partnership with CIGN. What this day has in store is a well-kept secret, but rest assured that there will be new things, laughter and challenges from 1pm to 4pm Access to this “mystery” is included with on-site ticket purchase which includes admission to the ice rink, the farm and parking.
SWEET SATURDAY-24th
It’s the opportunity to get together, dance and eat sweets at Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook from 1pm to 4pm. On site, taste the delights of the CRIFA sugar shack, enjoy cart and pony rides and visit the farm and its small animals. Not to be missed, an introduction to traditional Quebec dances in partnership with DEVCO and GC Brieau. Live the experience of Canadian evenings with our caller and her two musicians. They will guide you step by step in a festive atmosphere. Access to this unique experience is included with the purchase of an entrance ticket.
FAMILY SATURDAY March 2nd to 5th
What to do during the long-awaited school break? Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook’s team in partnership with the Coaticook RCM and Carbone Graphique offers us the excitement of a dog sleigh ride (with reservation from March 2nd to 5th). On March 2nd, from 1pm to 4pm, young and old will be able to have their makeup done for free and even ride ponies for a few dollars more on site. And guess what? Your ticket includes access to the ice rink, farm and free parking! Don’t miss this special day full of family memories.
STAR SATURDAY March 9th
This evening will close the winter program theme-based Saturdays in 2024. In partnership with Infrasound, we offer you a happy hour to the sound of the DJ’s catchy rhythms in a bright setting on the ice rink that will put stars in your eyes! The hiking, snow biking/fatbike, snowshoeing and snow scooter trails as well as the Liéri (escape game) will be accessible until 6:30 p.m. with a headlamp. Treat yourself to the park’s snack bar which will have local products and alcoholic beverages on the menu. Access to the activity requires the purchase of on-site entrance ticket.
