Foresta Lumina Reaches One Million: The Wonder Lives On
Coaticook, July 31, 2025 – The last day of July marked a milestone in the history of Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook: Foresta Lumina welcomed its one millionth visitor since opening in 2014. This impressive number confirms the unique place this immersive nighttime trail holds in Quebec’s tourism landscape.
The lucky guest, originally from Mont-Saint-Hilaire, stepped into the enchanted forest on July 31, 2025, unaware that she was about to become the one-millionth “lumineuse” — a visitor to Foresta Lumina. Warmly welcomed by the team, she received the coveted carte chouchou, granting her lifetime access to the magical experience. “I never expected to experience such a magical moment and to become the one-millionth visitor!” – Marie-Pier Labrecque, 1,000,000th visitor to Foresta Lumina.
“Foresta Lumina was born from a bold dream: to transform the forest into a luminous, enchanting, and tech-driven experience. Reaching one million visitors is proof that the magic is still alive and that our vision deeply resonates with the public,” said Caroline Sage, creator of Foresta Lumina and Executive Director of Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook.
Since its inception, Foresta Lumina has continuously evolved. Thanks to the collaboration between Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook and Moment Factory, the trail is refreshed every season with new visual, narrative, and technological elements.
“Reaching one million visitors at Foresta Lumina is a tremendous source of pride for Moment Factory. It was right here, in the heart of Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook, that the very first enchanted nighttime Lumina trail was born—our series that now lights up locations around the globe. The site’s magical and mythical energy has inspired us from the beginning. Our close collaboration with the Coaticook teams allows this experience to continue enchanting year after year—and that is the greatest reward of all,”
– Gabriel Pontbriand, Creative Director at Moment Factory
Among the most memorable features: the interactive Harmony of the Great Trees zone, Margaret’s Secret projection, and the secret garden-inspired welcome area unveiled in 2023.
“Our DNA rests on three pillars: innovation, creativity, and immersion. These are what ensure the longevity and global reach of Foresta Lumina,”
– Caroline Sage, creator of Foresta Lumina and Executive Director of Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook
The million-visitor milestone also brings tangible benefits to the region: longer visitor stays, increased use of the campground and hiking trails, national and international media exposure, and Coaticook’s rising reputation as a nature-culture destination.
The 2025 season continues to shine
Two musical events will close out the summer and extend the forest enchantment:
🎧 DOMENO, August 22 – An immersive electro performance at the end of the trail
🎸 Phil Lauzon, September 25 – A cozy country night around the campfire
